“Broken Ships…”

Blessings folk!

One last word on Jehoshaphat.

Remember, he had made an alliance with Ahaziah the King of Israel.
This displeased the Lord.
It was wickedness.

A cross reference gives us more insight…

1 Ki 22:48-49
Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold,
but they did not go for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat,
“Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.”
But Jehoshaphat was not willing.

Jehoshaphat built the ships to fetch gold from Ophir.

Ahaziah wanted to get in on the deal.

Jehoshaphat must have initially said “yes”, but, when the word of the prophet brought correction, Jehoshaphat broke the alliance…2 Chronicles 20.

I also believe that he then broke the ships.

Are we willing to receive the Word of the Lord?
Are we willing to destroy that which is “getting in the way”?

Seek the Lord.
Listen.
Do as He leads.
