"The Next Day…"

“The Next Day…”

Blessings folk!

The people fled in fear.
They had seen the ground open and swallow the defiant leaders.
They had seen fire from heaven consume the other rebellious leaders.

They feared that they would be next.

One would think that repentance took place…?

Read.

Numbers 16:41
41 But on the next day all the congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed the people of the Lord.”

The next day…
Not a week later…
Not a month later…
Not an extended time later…

The heart of the people is revealed.
The grumbled.
They were grumbling against Moses and Aaron.

Had they not seen what had occurred to the leaders who had grumbled and acted defiantly?

The ground had opened.
Consuming fire from heaven had fallen.

Yet, here they are grumbling.

Oh, it was a “righteous grumbling”…”you have killed the people of the Lord.”

Was it Moses who opened the ground?
Was it Moses who brought fire from heaven?

It was God Who did these things.

The people were grumbling against God.
The people were questioning the deeds of God.

I am always amazed by this passage...the next day they grumbled.
And yet, grumbling/complaining/etc. is rampant within the professing organizational church.

We are not to participate in such.
Do not grumble against the Lord.
