“Futile”

Blessings folk!

We press on.
We have seen that the Lord gives great detail as to how the Body of Christ - the organism of the True Church - should function.

More…a commandment...

Ephesians 4:17
17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.

Paul is stating that this is a testifying of the Lord…instruction...commandment.
They were no longer to walk as the Gentiles…

What is the walk of the Gentiles?
We will see more…
For today…
Futility of minds.

“Gentiles” is the phrase use for those who do no believe.

They are futile in their minds.

Romans tells us the same thing…
Note that the wrath of God is revealed against such.
Romans 1 is a detailed description of man today...read the entire chapter sometime

Romans 1:18-23
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, mhave been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became
futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

In their futility of mind/thinking their foolish hearts were darkened.
Claiming to be wise, they became fools.
The balance of the chapter reveals that God gives them over to what they want.

Let this not happen to us.

Be not futile in mind.
Walk not as the unbelievers.
