“Loaf, Stone, Fish, Snake”

Blessings folk!

Ask. He will give.
Seek. You will find.
Knock. It will be opened to you.

Read the passage again.

Mat 7:7-11

“Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.

“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks it will be opened.

“Or what man is there among you who,
when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?

“Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Jesus drives home the point by giving an example.
A father and son.
Is there any man…a man of the world, not necessarily a man of faith…who would not meet the request of a son?
Especially a foundational request of physical sustenance, food?

The unstated answer is “no”.

If a son asks for a loaf of bread, father will not give a stone.
If a son asks for first, father will not give a snake.

The point?
If we, being evil by nature, know how to give good gifts to our children…
How much more will Father, the Most High God, give good gifts to those who ask Him.

This gives some insight into the “gifts” that are in view.

We will see more…

For today, know Father desires to give only good.
Ask.
Seek.
Knock.
See what He does.
