“Happy Anniversary!”

Blessings Folk!

Today is the anniversary of an event that completely changed our nation - for the worse.

Today we see the same type of thing occurring.

Let me be clear.

Our political leadership at the national/federal level is corrupt - probably beyond restoration. All one has to do is watch the varied “news conferences”.

Lie upon lie.
Deceit upon deceit.
Obfuscation upon obfuscation.

Often it is simply amazing. One senator, when confronted with the words that he had spoken, denied saying them. When told that there was video evidence, he still denied.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/watercooler/2009/dec/20/sen-whitehouse-foes-health-care-bill-are-birthers-/

Amazing.

In recent months and years the attempt at even a veneer of honesty has been laid by the side. The agenda is all that matters.

I am not speaking of matters of blue vs. red, liberal vs. conservative, Equus africanus asinus vs. Loxodonta africana, coastal vs. fly-over country.

These are simply matters of fact and the way that things work.

The Lord speaks of such in His Word.

He tells us of the evil of falsifying weights and measures.

Prov 20:23
23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the Lord ; and a false balance is not good.
KJV

The principle for us to see is that we are not to use false measures, false numbers, false strategies and the like…

Ezek 45:10
10 "You must have honest balances, an honest dry measure, and an honest liquid measure.

(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

We do not see such in the “legislation” of the day.

What we do see…
Hos 12:7
7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
KJV

Amos 8:4-7
4 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,
5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
7 The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
KJV

Many more passages speak of the evil of man in political and especially in religious leadership.
2 Peter 2:17-19
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
KJV

(Of course, you would do well to read these passages in their expanded context&hellipWinking

I will not go into the details. I just encourage you to lay aside the politically correct phrases and what “we think we know” and look at the bare facts.

I encourage you to learn the truth historically, politically, constitutionally and the like.

What is the anniversary?

On December 23, 1913 Congress abdicated its constitutional role and gave over its power to a private consortium. The Federal Reserve Act was passed. Years in the making and design, it was finally passed “under the cloak of darkness” just before Christmas...many members of Congress missing. Sounds familiar.

When dealing with the ways and manner of men nothing has changed.

This one Act has led us to where we are today. Here are a few facts.

  • The dollar of 1913 is now worth less than five cents.
  • The “business cycle” of boom and bust are due to this Act.
  • The recessions and depressions of the last century are due to this Act.
  • Inflation is due to this Act.
  • The ability to expand government upon the back of the people through debt is due to this Act.
  • The ability to wage war is due to this Act (really? you say...yep&hellipWinking
  • There is much, much more.

This deception via “‘false balance” will eventually cost us this country, our lifestyle, our society.

It is good that our hope is not in man and his abilities.

Our hope is in the Most High God Whose Son took on the form of flesh and offered Himself for the sins of mankind.

Our hope is in the One Who humbled Himself to the point of death upon a cross.

Our hope is in the One who “stepped into” His creation and Who allowed His creation to kill him.

As the evil of man continues to increase...with a smile and a word of wonder for all he is doing that is good...let us trust in the Lord.

Yes! Speak the truth.
Yes! Fight the fight of truth.
Yes! Learn.
Yes! Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Remember…

Prov 20:22
22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord , and he shall save thee.
KJV

Let us have this attitude…note where our encouragement lies…note how we are to live.

Phil 2:1-16
1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
