“Who Do You Say I Am?”

Blessings folk!

Jesus continued to travel.

He questioned the disciples…

Mar 8:27-30

Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi;
and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?”

They told Him, saying, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah;
but others, one of the prophets.”

And He continued by questioning them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.”

And He warned them to tell no one about Him.

Jesus asked, “Who do people say that I am?”
Did He not know?
Perhaps.
Did He know?
Likely

Why ask?
He wanted the discussion with the disciples.
He wanted them to think…reflect.

The disciples response?
Some say John the Baptist…
Some say Elijah…
Some say one of the other prophets…

Then Jesus asked “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”

Peter was correct.
The other gospels give us more insight…which we will examine later.

Jesus then warned them to tell no one.
It was not time.

For today, who do you say that He is?
It is time to tell.
