“For the Equipping of the Saints…”

Blessings folk!

Again, read these verses.
Repetition is at the heart of learning, knowledge, understanding.

Eph 4:11-13

And He gave some as apostles,
and some as prophets,
and some as evangelists,
and some as pastor
and teachers,

for the equipping of the saints for the work of service,
to the building up of the body of Christ;

until we all attain to the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to a mature man,
to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

God gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for a purpose.

The purpose was the equipping of the saints.
They are given to the church of True Believers.

If this is so, why do we reject some of the role, some of the functioning.

Generally speaking the church, at least the western church, rejects the apostle and prophet.

Many a book has been written to justify this.

Let’s just be clear.

Such is a lie and the deception of the evil one.

All roles, functionings and gifting that are seen in the Word are valid today.
They are needed to today.

This explains many of the problems in the contemporary church.

We are a 5-cylinder engine running on 3 cylinders.

Reject the apostolic…
Reject the prophetic…
Pick and choose the gifting of the Spirit that “you like”…
And you will have what we see today.
A powerless church.
An insignificant gathering of people searching for some purpose and searching to maintain “numbers”.

Such is not the Kingdom.
