“Patience: A Fruit of the Spirit”

Blessings folk!

Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

We have that the Spirit empowers true Believers with love, joy, peace…and now…patience.

True patience is from the Spirit.
“Patience” from/in the flesh will fail.

Here some of what the Word says…

Ecc 7:8
The end of a matter is better than its beginning;
Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit.

Man is so haughty.
(Want to know what haughtiness looks like, how it acts? See John Kerry.)

The Lord is patient.

2Pe 3:15
and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,

Servants of God are patient…

2Co 6:4-6
but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,
in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,

We are to be patient with one another…in love…

Eph 4:2
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,

We are to follow the example of those before us…

2Ti 3:10-12
Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance,
persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Heb 6:12
so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Press on in the patience of the Spirit.
Much reward will come.
Now. Later.
