“Stretched Out His Hand”

Blessings folk!

The trip was complete.
The sacrifice was bound.
The sacrificial wood was ready to be put to fire.
There was only one more act of obedience.

Gen 22:9-10

Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

Abraham took the knife in his hand to complete the act, to sacrifice his son.
If is often described that Abraham had the knife raised in the air over his son, about to thrust it.
The Word does not say that.
It simply states that he took the knife in his hand.
The sacrifice would soon begin.
Soon, it would be done.
It was all in the hands of the Lord.

Then, one of the most powerful words in the Word…”but”.

We will look at it tomorrow.

For today, fear not that the Lord might wait “until the last moment”.
Fret not when we do no see as the Lord does.

Rest in Him.
Trust in Him.
He is life.
He will fulfill His Word.
