“Reaction”

Today’s reading:

Matthew 14:12-13
Mark 6:30-31
Luke 9:10a

John the Baptist had been beheaded.
His disciples took his body and buried it.
They then went to Jesus and told Him.

Jesus was effected.
He and those with Him went to a secluded place...by themselves.

Jesus wanted them to rest awhile.
There had been so many people coming and going that they had not had time to eat.

This is interesting for what we will see tomorrow.

For today, where do you turn in time of shock and grief?
In whom do you trust?

But note this.
While Jesus was seeking a time of seclusion...the people followed…
