“Find Me A Medium…”

Blessings folk!

Saul inquired of the Lord.
The Lord did not answer.

God is not a “jack-in-the-box” that pops out when we decide to inquire.

1 Sam 28:5
When Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD did not answer him,
either by dreams or by Urim or by prophets.

What does Saul do?

He goes to a medium.
A medium that he had banned.

1Sa 28:3
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him and buried him in Ramah, his own city. And Saul had removed from the land those who were mediums and spiritists.

What is a medium?

The Hebrew word is ba’alah and means “mistress”…wow.
The KJV translates “medium” as “familiar spirit”.
This woman was a female owner - mistress - of familiar spirits…unholy spirits.

Such a person can conjure up spirits and is a necromancer (to seek/inquire of…especially pagan gods and the dead)

Saul’s command…

1Sa 28:7
Then Saul said to his servants,
“Seek for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.”
And his servants said to him, “Behold, there is a woman who is a medium at En-dor.”

Saul told his servants to find a medium.
If God did not answer, Saul would go to other gods.
He would break his own law to do so.

For today, know this.
This is real.
Mediums/familiar spirits are real.
Spiritist are real. Other gods are real.
Demons are real.

If we are unwilling to accept the clear teaching of the Word about such, then we will be in constant danger from deception by such.
