Most are familiar with this incident.

Give close heed to the detail.

Matthew tells us that there are two blind men.
Mark gives us the name of one man - Bartimaeus.

The blind men heard Jesus passing by.
They cried out to Jesus.
They cried out in faith.
They cried out in desperation.
They cried out in the midst of persecution and ridicule.
They cried persistently.

They cried unto the Son of David for mercy.
Mercy.

Jesus called for them asking “what do you want Me to do for you?”

They wanted their eyes open.

Jesus, moved with compassion, healed them.
He touched them.
They followed Him.
They glorified God.

Note that the crowd...the masses...told them to be quiet.
The masses sternly warned against crying out to Jesus.

The masses...especially religious folk...will warn against crying out to Jesus.
They are embarrassed by such.

But, when the masses saw what happened...they gave praise to God.

Have you cried out in faith?
Persistently?
What would you have Jesus to do for you?
