Ezra 10:4
“Arise!
For this matter is your responsibility, but we will be with you;
be courageous and act.”

What did Ezra do?

Ezr 10:5
Then Ezra rose and made the leading priests, the Levites and all Israel, take oath that they would do according to this proposal;
so they took the oath.

Ezra arose.
Ezra “made” the leading priests, the Levites and all Israel take the oath…according to Shecaniah’s proposal.

Ezra did what Shecaniah suggested.

Such is rare today.

Sadly, many (most?) “leading leaders” in the church today resist/refuse ideas/insights if they are not their own…or, being honest, if people do not think it was “their idea/from them”.

Such should not be.

We see humility in Ezra.
We see him accepting that the responsibility is his.
We see willingness to receive the Word of the Lord from others.
We see a teachable spirit.
We see one who responds to God’s answer.
We see one moving in courage, even in the face of despair.
We see one who acts.

Such are needed today.
